How One YouTube Video Generated Over $100,000 (And It Didn’t Even Go Viral)

I posted one YouTube video and made $100k.

And the crazy part is the video only got 50k views.

This is my client Leevi.

He has a YouTube channel in the business space and wants to become a leading authority there.

The challenge is that his specific niche, helping people start lead generation agencies, is quite small.

Now even though he’s in a small niche, we’ve still been able to grow his channel from 0 subscribers, to making over $1m/year from his YouTube channel.

But still, he has bigger goals than that, so we needed to find a way to reach a broader audience of people interested in starting an online business, not just people who were already aware of what a lead gen agency is.

This was when I identified a HUGE trend on YouTube:

"AI automation agency"

Videos on starting an AI business were getting hundreds of thousands of views.

We decided to create a video titled "DON'T Start an AIAA, Start an LGA Instead: Crazy Opportunity" that would attract the AI automation audience and direct them to consider starting a lead gen agency instead.

This strategy is known as trendjacking, and is used by some of the most popular YouTubers on the planet.

The key was to create a high-quality video that would hold the viewer's attention, make a compelling case for lead gen over AI automation as a business, and effectively pitch my friend's lead gen course.

We took the time to carefully script it out and edit it to be engaging.

When the video was uploaded, it started slow but then began to pick up steam.

Within a couple days, Leevi texted me that he had booked 28 sales calls from the video in just 48 hours.

With a typical 33% close rate and a $6000 course price, you can estimate this equated to over $50,000 in revenue at this stage. And it kept growing from there.

To date, that single video has generated over $100,000 in course sales with only 50,000 views.

It wasn't viral by any means, but it reached the right audience at the right time with the right message.

By trendjacking a popular topic and directing that audience to his offer, my client was able to generate a massive ROI.

If you can identify trends early on YouTube and capitalise on them at the right time, you can generate a lot of revenue from one single video.

However, to consistently identify these trends, you must be extremely active on YouTube and doing research on the platform.

The first video I saw that utilised this format was from Alex Hormozi:

This video is his most popular video to date.

He also doubled down on this format, doing another video following this format, and it also performed very well:

However, the thing I want to focus on is that this small channel utilised this format that had proven to make Alex Hormozi go viral, and applied it to his own niche:

Now the data is beginning to support that this works in lots of different niches.

He also doubled down on this format recently and got this result:

This further proves and adds confidence to my thesis that you can apply this format to your niche and target audience and see great results.
